Friday Faves with @SavorSinCity

Welcome to another edition of “Keeping Up with the Kalories.” Just Kidding. It’s Friday Faves time!! This week, we’re featuring @SavorSinCity and this chick knows her way around some of best spots in town as well as some of the best kept local hiking trails. Enjoy her Friday Faves. Take it away….

1. Old School Pizzeria

“Once you’ve had Old School’s Garlic Rosemary Bread Knots, you’ll know why I love this place. I ascribe to the adage that bread is life and you can’t go wrong here if this is your motto, too. This North Las Vegas eatery isn’t very big, but its food packs a punch. Order up one of their monster slices of pizza or the Crazy Good Chicken Thighs, but leave room for the knots. This place may be out of the way for many, but it’s definitely worth the drive.” 2040 E Craig Rd, North Las Vegas, NV 89030 702.990.0070

2. Flock & Fowl

“Flocking delicious, indeed. If I could eat Chef Sheridan Su’s Hainanese Chicken Rice every day, I would. This poached chicken served alongside rice cooked with chicken fat is totally addicting and my fellow foodie friends will attest to that since we’ve been here together and separately multiple times and taken multiple photos of this delicious dish. I always add Chinese sausage for an even tastier experience. The Thai Caramel Chicken Wings and Night Market Fried Chicken Bao are also excellent choices so just plan to order it all and bring a friend or two.”380 W Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89102

3. Giada’s

“I’ve been to Giada for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even a wedding reception. Each visit for me has been stellar, with its great views of the Strip, the attentive service, classy ambiance, and, of course, the appetizing food. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend the Lemon Spaghetti with Shrimp and Lobster Arancini. I love gnocchi and anytime I eat at an Italian restaurant, I’m bound to order it; this version was delectable. And, the citrus-infused zeppoles for dessert are a fabulous ending to your meal!” 3595 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109

 4. Mothership Coffee Roasters

“This locally owned and operated coffee house offers quality product that’s out of this world. Skip the coffee chains and come to Mothership, where the coffee is roasted on site and the pastries are made in-house. I keep it simple with a latte paired with a cinnamon roll or one of the tempting scones. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by for your caffeine fix and don’t forget to sample their Hopped Nitrogen Brew, a tasty blend of single origin cold-brewed coffee with hops.” 2708 N Green Valley Pkwy Henderson, NV 89014 702.456.1869

5. Red Rock National Conservation Area

“Las Vegas residents are truly fortunate to have so many options at our disposal when we want to go play outside. With Lake Mead, Mount Charleston, the Valley of Fire, and Red Rock all within relatively close proximity, there is always someplace to go and enjoy the great outdoors. Most of the time, you can find me at Red Rock, though. Whether you come to hike, bike, run, or just take in the beautiful scenery, RR offers something for everyone. Hiking trails are available for all levels and we get out to explore as much as we can. Ice Box Canyon happens to be an especially picturesque spot with the various scenic rock formations and my son’s favorite trail here.” 1000 Scenic Loop Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89161
