“I’m still exploring their menus, however, the Kitchen Table food program truly deserves the spotlight. The elongated counter dubbed the Kitchen Table is filled with various dishes that Chef Shawn Giordano and his team have whipped up that morning based on locally-sourced ingredients. You’ll find Frittata, Cauliflower Slaw, Fennel Mac & Cheese, and my personal favorite, Fancy Toasts. The Whole Wheat and Sourdough is baked in-house, toasted, then topped with a variety of goodies. The best toast I’ve had included a blend of mascarpone, goat cheese, and fresh rosemary, topped with fresh figs, multiple berries, and Asian pear, plus, orange zest.”1126 Fremont St, Las Vegas, NV 89101 www.publicuslv.com

“The seafood is phenomenal and I love Chef Dan Krohmer’s simple, yet explosive preparations. He can take something as simple as fried calamari and completely throw you with the addition of miso hollandaise, pickled sweet peppers, and cilantro. There are a handful of favorites I’m happy to revisit, but I’m equally excited about the Daily Specials board – it’s the first thing I look at upon arrival. A lot of it revolves around fresh and sometimes, live seafood, based on seasonality, and is many times, amazing on its own. There are also really outstanding non-seafood dishes that deserve just as much praise like their Grilled Prime NY Strip, Grass-Fed Beef Carpaccio, and Organic Chicken. The best part is the laid-back atmosphere that allows you to unwind while enjoying quality food.” 3655 S Durango Dr Unit 6, Las Vegas, NV 89147 www.othermamalv.com

“With a specialty foods wonderland at his fingertips, Chef Johnny Church continues to amaze with his innovative dishes featuring unique and seasonal ingredients. I’ve always been a big fan of Johnny’s work and his perspective of food, so to have him in an environment that allows him to simply create is amazing. Some of my favorite dishes include the Sunny-Side Quail Eggs, Piedmontese Beef and Octopus Carpaccio, Tre Swine Ye Grits, and Snickerdoodle Crusted Stuffed French Toast.” 2053 E Pama Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89119 www.artisanalfoods.com

“This has been and continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in town. The dishes are drop dead gorgeous with so many intricate elements that you’ll quickly forget you’re in a random strip mall steps away from a gas station. Chef Ramir DeCastro puts an enormous amount of thought into each ingredient creating new experiences with food. Each component of a dish plays an important role and it’s that attention to detail that delights me every time. The specials menu is definitely something to keep an eye on, but don’t miss out on classics such as the Sake Orenji, Tea Brined Ribs, and their take on Karaage and Crispy Brussels Sprouts. 4983 W Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89103 www.yonakajapaneserestaurant.com

“It’s hard to understand the buzz around a dish like Hainanese Chicken Rice until you’ve had it. The main component is poaching whole chickens in stock; this achieves a level of succulence rarely attained by conventional cooking methods. The chicken is very delicate in flavor and meant to be accompanied by their housemade soy, sambal, and ginger scallion sauces, which, in contact, are robust. To round out this stellar dish, they cook their rice in chicken fat and broth. Jasmine rice is already so beautifully fragrant, but this really kicks it up a few notches. They’re also killing it with an amazing Fried Buttermilk Chicken Bao and chicken wings tossed in various Asian-inspired sauces. Chef Sheridan Su is a poultry genius!” 380 W Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89102 www.flockandfowl.com
